This quilt pattern is made by Satomi Hoar of Satomi Quilts. Celebrate your Christmas with a fun and big ornament quilt! The inspiration for this pattern is from our Christmas tree. Satomi cuts a fresh tree from a local farm and decorate it with many glass ornaments. Each year, she and her family add a few new ornaments to the tree. Her ornaments are a snapshot of her familys story!
Skill level: Advanced beginner. The quilt size is 57x 72 and the pattern includes the instructions for two versions (Original and scrappy) with a lot of diagrams.
This big ornament is easy to piece and assemble. It might be overwhelming to deal with a large scale design but it has divided sections so that you can piece section by section so that assembling the quilt top is a cinch. For the scrappy version, there is a diagram with numbered rows and columns for easy assembly. Its a fun way to use your scraps and you can add this quilted ornament to your familys story!
